Bajaj Life Insurance has appointed Sammeer Kulkarni as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), reinforcing the insurer’s commitment to strengthening cyber resilience, information security governance, and digital trust amid an increasingly complex threat landscape.
Kulkarni announced his appointment through a professional update, marking his transition to Bajaj Life Insurance after serving as Chief Information Security Officer at Zurich Kotak General Insurance. He brings more than two decades of experience across banking, financial services, and insurance, having led enterprise cybersecurity, information risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance initiatives at several leading financial institutions.
Kulkarni’s professional journey spans leadership roles across several prominent financial institutions, including BNP Paribas, IndusInd Bank, IndiaFirst Life Insurance, Bharti AXA Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Centurion Bank of Punjab, IL&FS, and Polaris Software. His extensive experience in highly regulated environments positions him well to address evolving cybersecurity challenges facing India’s insurance industry.
In his new role, Kulkarni will lead Bajaj Life Insurance’s enterprise information security strategy, overseeing cyber risk management, security operations, governance, data protection, and the security of the company’s expanding digital ecosystem. His mandate is expected to include strengthening cyber resilience while supporting secure digital transformation initiatives and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory expectations.
