Burgess Sam Cooper named CEO of Adani’s new OT cybersecurity division

Burgess Sam Cooper, a veteran cybersecurity leader with nearly 30 years of experience, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Adani Enterprises Limited’s newly launched Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity business.

Cooper had a decade-long tenure at Ernst & Young (EY) India, where he served as Partner in Cybersecurity Consulting.

Journey from CISO to CEO

Burgess’s career spans nearly 30 years, with leadership roles in globally recognized organizations like HSBC, Vodafone, and EY. Before joining EY in 2015, he held positions as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Technology and Security Officer in leading telecom and financial service firms.

Reflecting on his decade at EY, Cooper described it as a period of deep learning, growth, and collaboration. He thanked his colleagues, clients, and peers for their support throughout his journey.

“Stepping into EY as a Consulting Partner after leading cybersecurity as a CISO was a defining moment. The past decade has been fulfilling — full of learning, growth, and partnerships I deeply value,” he shared.

New Role at Adani

Cooper’s new role is not just a career milestone but a strategic move by Adani Group to address the growing need for OT cybersecurity in India and globally. Operational Technology refers to systems that manage industrial processes in sectors like energy, transport, and manufacturing — all of which are core to Adani’s operations.
