The govt of India has taken a strategic move to safeguard the JEE (Mains) 2025 examination from potential cyber threats.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) deployed its elite cyber commandos to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the test. This proactive step was taken following concerns raised by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), particularly after the UGC-NET exam was scrapped due to security breaches.
With cybersecurity becoming a growing challenge for national-level exams, the MHA worked closely with the National Testing Agency (NTA) and top cybersecurity experts to monitor exam centers and online activities linked to the test.
Special attention was given to the public IPs utilized by the exam’s delivery agency, TCS, to detect and prevent any unauthorized access attempts.
The deployment of these cyber experts significantly strengthened the security framework, ensuring the JEE (Mains) was conducted without any disruptions. The initiative has been widely appreciated by students, parents, and academicians, as it reinstated faith in the integrity of the examination process.
Impressed by the effectiveness of the cyber commandos, NTA chief Pradeep Singh Kharola has now requested I4C to develop a dedicated cybersecurity framework for future examinations. This move is expected to set a precedent for all national-level competitive exams, reinforcing the importance of cyber resilience in safeguarding high-stakes assessments.
The increasing use of digital platforms for conducting competitive exams has made them vulnerable to cyber threats such as data breaches, hacking, and unauthorized access. The swift intervention by MHA and I4C in securing JEE (Mains) 2025 highlights the government’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of examinations.
