Rashmika Mandanna, a famous south Indian actor, has assumed a fresh role as the country’s ambassador for encouraging cyber safety. This is a development subsequent to her being duped by an AI-generated deepfake video that went viral online last year. This fake video sparked a long discussions in the media regarding the safety of an individual on internet.
Based on her own experience, Rashmika wants to encourage internet security and increase public awareness of the risks associated with cybercrime.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Ministry of Home Affairs has named Rashmika as the National Ambassador for Promoting Cyber Safety.
In her capacity as ambassador, Rashmika will direct national initiatives to raise public awareness of the risks associated with cybercrime, such as deepfake videos, online fraud, cyberbullying, and dangerous content created by artificial intelligence.
The programs’ main goal is to increase public awareness of the dangers that exist online, including deepfake videos, financial fraud, cyberbullying, and malicious content created by artificial intelligence.
